Modalities

Philosophy

With a focus on an integrated approach to medical and clinical care, our compassionate team offers a range of specialized treatment modalities selected exclusively for women. Our gender-separate program is individualized to each woman’s unique challenges and strengths in seeking recovery.

At Hannah’s House, our women-led team of dedicated medical professionals, nurses, therapists, and psychological care staff provide accurate, evidence-based addiction treatment, focusing on individual and family healing.

Addiction is a Chronic Illness

Addiction is a chronic, neurobiological health condition that often co-occurs with mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder. Hannah’s House ASAM-certified, multidisciplinary team treats these co-occurring disorders simultaneously with substance abuse, leaving no stone unturned. We work together to hand-select individual therapies that best support each woman’s recovery.

Treating Every Dimension of Wellness

Our boutique, bayside environment for women is a safe and sacred space to explore your personal issues and barriers to recovery. Upon admission, our addiction specialists guide you through comprehensive evaluations, supervised medical detox, and a specialized menu of treatment modalities. Every treatment plan includes medical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual care elements to ensure your needs are met.

Women’s Trauma Therapies

Mental health disorders and deeply rooted trauma are common among women struggling to overcome addiction. Our highly trained professionals provide healing therapies, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), for patients who have experienced trauma.

Detox & Medical Services

Hannah’s House offers several specialized treatment modalities based on a woman’s unique detox and medical needs, including:

  • Medication management
  • Medical detox
  • Psychiatric interventions

Spiritual Care Services for Women

Healthly spirituality, regardless of religious affiliation or interest, reminds people struggling with substance use that there are forces out there greater than themselves that can positively influence their recovery. If requested, patients may also meet regularly with our spiritual care guides to nurture spirituality.

Experiential Therapy

We use activity-based therapies to improve mental, physical, and spiritual wellness while promoting fun and relaxation. This work is vital in helping women develop the knowledge, life skills, and camaraderie that supports healthy, long-lasting recovery.

A Place for Family Healing

Addiction affects every person in the family system. Our team is committed to empowering women and their loved ones by arming them with the facts about substance use. We can also help identify dysfunctional family dynamics that complicate addiction. Our comprehensive Family Program paves the way for sustained recovery for all involved.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on examining the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Our patients learn to modify their thought patterns and improve their coping skills by exploring thought patterns that lead to self-destructive actions and beliefs.

12-Step Education

We guide each patient to understand timeless recovery principles. Led by a team of people in recovery themselves, we share the benefits of 12-Step recovery simply and clearly. Our patients do more than attend meetings; we show each woman how to have an authentic experience with the steps.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Motivational interviewing, or MI, is a counseling method that helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and find the internal motivation they need to change. It is a practical short-term process that considers how difficult it is for anyone to make significant life changes.
